arXiv caps submissions at 2 per month amid surge in AI slop papers
DJiafei · x · 2026-10-30
arXiv has started enforcing submission limits: each account can now submit at most 2 papers per calendar month, with a notice citing "an overwhelming increase in submission volume." A user screenshot shows only 1 submission remaining this month.
The poster questions whether this will actually curb AI-generated low-quality paper spam — a cap of 2 per month may still be generous for bad actors.
