Bank of America warns customers: stop sharing passwords with AI agents, or pay for what they do
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-10-30
Bank of America has emailed customers warning them they're responsible for anything an AI agent does with their login, advising against handing credentials to any outside service—including agents offering to act on customers' behalf.
It's part of a broader crackdown across US banks: Morgan Stanley now blocks third-party agents outright, JPMorgan keeps outside agents like Meta's Muse out of customer accounts, and Citi and Wells Fargo are also restricting access. Financial institutions are increasingly treating agent-powered account access as a privacy and security liability.
