A user warns that the Dot AI assistant unreliably honors model settings: despite explicitly requesting Sol High/Sol Medium for storage tasks, they watched usage get eaten. Dot admitted it hadn't applied the instructions, and had been running routine chores like email and Time Machine troubleshooting on Astra Ultra. Task-level model settings only became visible after a desktop app update, and no per-task usage breakdown exists to audit the overage. The advice: check your task settings — telling Dot which model to use isn't enough.
