Google AI Mode denies email access in one answer while citing emails in others
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-10-30
User Gagan Ghotra flagged inconsistent behavior in Google AI Mode: asked which brands to buy this Black Friday based on his emails, it replied it has no access to his emails or account data and asked for categories, brands, and budget instead. Yet at other times AI Mode does personalization and cites emails in answers — suggesting unreliable permission handling or fallback messaging when retrieval fails.
