Sources say Nvidia is negotiating a >$5B construction guarantee on Nscale's 460 MW shell to lock in Anthropic's $45B Vera Rubin GPU contract at the Monarch campus in West Virginia. Structured as a residual value guarantee on the facility itself, it would let Nscale raise investment-grade financing; if Nscale defaults, Nvidia steps in and takes title, effectively becoming Anthropic's direct landlord. Anthropic also plans a similarly sized second-phase lease. Bloomberg first reported the talks.
