Claude Duet says it runs on Xeon, Dot on EPYC — Ben Bajarin asks if the backends are fungible
BenBajarin · x · 2026-10-30
Analyst Ben Bajarin probed which hardware Anthropic's products run on: Claude Duet reported an Intel Xeon 2.3GHz cloud container with 4 vCPUs (exact SKU hidden by the hypervisor), while Dot reported an AMD EPYC 9V74 80-core host for its workspace, noting that's the workspace CPU, not the model hardware. He wonders whether the inference backends are fungible. Screenshots attached.
