Generating long AI videos backward from the ending to curb quality drift
MustBeSomethingThere · reddit · 2026-10-30
A developer shares a trick to reduce quality drift in long AI videos. Instead of generating each segment from the previous one (errors accumulate like broken telephone), he generates the opening first, then the ending using the opening as reference, and works backward toward the middle while keeping the original image and voice as anchors. For a six-part video, generation order is 1→6→5→4→3→2, while playback stays 1→6.
