Anthropic researcher slams tech media: cite primary sources or shut up
jachiam0 · x · 2026-10-30
jachaim0 makes two demands of tech media: (1) articles must cite and link to primary textual sources—"we verified it behind the scenes so you don't have to" is no longer acceptable, and outlets claiming a unique position on truth should meet a minimum provable citation standard; (2) experts quoted in articles should have trackable accuracy scores for their public remarks, displayed next to their names—credentials are not correctness. He argues the public is constantly confused by media that doesn't understand the issues and "experts" who don't either, and we should be able to see who actually forecasts well.
