After Prove2Me helped Claude agents produce a complete Lean formalization of Fermat's Last Theorem, the community set out to scale the same approach to an entire research field, starting with operations research.
- In one month, the community began formalizing 2,012 OR papers and textbooks in Lean 4, organized into 4,288 missions containing 44K theorem statements and definitions and 8.8 million lines of Lean — spanning optimization, MDPs, queueing, inventory, and game theory. Contributors have solved 64% of missions.
- Growth compounds through reuse: 60% of missions reused a theorem or definition proved earlier; the goal is a shared common library, not thousands of isolated files.
- The attached Formalpedia visualization (Oct 24, 2026) maps 33,353 theorems and 11,146 definitions across linear programming, convex optimization, stochastic programming, queueing, games, and more.
- Context: Anthropic previously reported Claude autonomously wrote the first end-to-end computer-checked proof of FLT in 11 days — 13 million lines of Lean and 29,500 intermediate results.
