Evo 2 appears to learn recombination algorithms just by concatenating sequences in the prompt
garykbrixi · x · 2026-10-29
The author finds that by concatenating a handful of related sequences in the prompt, Evo 2 appears to learn algorithms to recombine and mutate them, enabling efficient biological design across modalities. Designing phages with Evo 2 previously required fine-tuning on thousands of genomes, but in-context learning succeeds with just four examples across tasks.
