Grok switches to Arabic mid-analysis, blames an en-AR language glitch
dbasch · x · 2026-10-30
User dbasch shared a screenshot of Grok bizarrely responding entirely in Arabic while analyzing an English post, including its thinking summary. When asked "why are you speaking arabic to me? wtf?", Grok admitted a language-setting glitch — a prior "en-AR" instruction was misinterpreted as requiring an Arabic response — then re-output the same analysis in English. "One day we will have artificial common sense, but we're not close," the post quips.
