Speaking on a podcast with @collision (where he also had his first Guinness), Sam Altman revealed that when a new internal OpenAI model arrived one weekend, researchers threw the hardest problems of their careers at it — and it knocked them down one after another across many fields. Altman described feeling tremendous excitement mixed with sadness and melancholy, "like something was ending." The chat also covered a PHP exploit, agent swarms, and his view that AI leads to deflation.
