Why standalone personal agents won't become the next AI entry point
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-29
Quoting MMMusol's essay, sujingshen argues standalone personal agents lack the conditions to become the next AI entry point: today's real users overlap heavily with Claude Code/Codex users and use multiple products out of curiosity; entry points require must-have needs or high-frequency consumption, which personal agents lack — Chinese e-commerce platforms are closed and won't open APIs to divert GMV; and always-on content feeds carry high reading costs (Today AI's recommendations are skippable at a glance). When general agents already personalize, a standalone entry must first prove it does what general ones can't.
