Agent Standup: open-source tool turns Claude Code sessions into a live video call

stickygoose · reddit · 2026-10-29

Solo dev open-sourced Agent Standup (MIT license), rendering Claude Code sessions as a live "video call": each session and sub-agent appears as a voiced cartoon character with screen sharing, showing what that agent is doing in real time.

Each agent's shared screen shows live:

Daily-driver feature: when a session hits a permission menu or asks a question, its character knocks on the call; one click opens that session's tab.

How it works: a small local server reads the session files Claude Code already writes in /.claude/projects — no hooks, no setup, nothing leaves your machine by default. It also reads Codex and Mistral Vibe sessions. The author built it with Claude Code (300 commits in two weeks, 296 co-authored by Claude Code), using CLAUDE.md for project rules, browser self-testing, and a separate Claude reviewer trying to break each release before shipping.

Install: search "Agent Standup" in VS Code/Cursor/Windsurf extensions, or npx @doublegeste/agent-standup@latest --open, or install as a Claude Code plugin. GitHub: Atoll92/agent-standup.
