Insta360 X6 Spatial Capture turns 360 footage into explorable 3D scenes
FellMentKE · x · 2026-10-29
Insta360's Spatial Capture feature for the X6 360 camera generates explorable 3D scenes from 360° footage, and the company has launched a website where users can share their captured scenes (e.g., the "Show Your USA in 3D" challenge).
The poster argues the real significance isn't that a 360 camera can produce 3D, but what it changes about preserving places: a photo shows a room, a video shows how it felt to move through it, while an explorable 3D space lets you return to details you didn't know you'd miss.
