"2x faster than S3" tweets are exploding — but you're trading away durability, security and correctness

0xblacklight notes a surge of "we built S3 but 2x faster" or "faster than Cloudflare Durable Objects" tweets, since code is free and agents can hill-climb performance. What's not free: infrastructure — S3's 11 nines of durability and Durable Objects' correctness guarantees on a global edge network, which most reimplementations lack.
He's not against alternatives, but warns vendors rarely spell out the tradeoff: you're compromising on reliability, durability, security and often correctness. Understand what you're giving up before switching.
