Nebius and Positronic launch $20K Physical AI competition on Franka arm

Nebius and Positronic Robotics launched a Physical AI Competition (October–December 2026) with a $20K+ prize pool in GPU and evaluation credits, open to all teams.
- Track: the DROID: Everyday Tasks leaderboard — 1,000+ episodes, 100+ common tasks, all on the same Franka arm with Robotiq gripper. Best open models complete only 70% of tasks on average; the weakest 12%. Robotic manipulation is far from solved, and the gap leaves room for small teams with good ideas.
- Format: submit policies as Docker containers from Oct 26; scored first in simulation on a public leaderboard; top 10 advance to real-robot testing at Positronic's lab in December.
- Early bird: first 50 teams submitting in week one get $100 in Nebius GPU credits. Register at competition.phail.ai
