DHH: AI Tools Could Make the Best-vs-Worst Programmer Gap 1,000x

Quoting DHH's Ruby on Rails keynote, via tristanbob:
- DHH argues that a 100x gap between the worst programmer without AI tools and the best programmer with them "is not a very controversial statement" today — but is revolutionary for understanding where the technology stands.
- He goes further: "maybe this is slightly more controversial... the worst programmer without these tools versus the best programmer with these tools is a 1,000x difference."
He also notes nobody knows exactly how much acceleration these tools enable. A sharp data point in the ongoing debate over whether AI amplifies programmer ability dispersion.
