US models lead China's on use-case post-training and even frontier benchmarks

A contrarian-but-deflationary take: American models lead on use-case-driven post-training and data. Like a newer model checkpoint that isn't 'truly' better but is more capable on tasks people pay for, US models beat Chinese ones the same way. The gap also extends to frontier capabilities—math, end-to-end ML research, kernel engineering, bio, physics—where the benchmark gap is even wider than on AA, since Chinese models barely touch those areas.
