Stop Claude agents quitting halfway: task checklist plus retry limit

Claude may report progress and end its turn before a long task is done. Anthropic recommends maintaining a task checklist, verifying all items before treating a run as complete, and auto-continuing with a max retry limit to avoid infinite loops.
