Codex Pro user: 6.1 Terra keeps stopping mid-task, breaking cron-driven agent jobs
HunnyMal · reddit · 2026-10-29
A Codex Pro 5x subscriber reports that the 6.1 Terra model has a habit of "just stopping" mid-task with no blocker or error, silently pausing—likely to report progress—which causes their personal assistant ("Hermes") to assume the task is done and fail.
The failing job was a daily cron that reconciles the assistant's memory stores, sweeping that day's sessions, an Obsidian vault, and MEMORIES.md. It worked on 6.1 Sol but failed for two days straight after switching to Terra; they've rolled back and argue that despite Terra's solid computer-use capabilities, this behavior makes it unviable even for its strongest use cases.
