Chart shows OpenAI dominating the intelligence-per-cost Pareto frontier across 78 models
Lucky_Creme_5208 · reddit · 2026-10-29
A Reddit post shares Artificial Analysis' Intelligence Index vs. Cost per Task scatter plot covering 78 models.
The Pareto frontier is almost entirely occupied by OpenAI models: from the cheapest entry models at roughly $0.006/task up to high-intelligence models in the $1–$10 range, OpenAI offers the best intelligence-per-dollar at nearly every price point. Google and Anthropic's top models score comparably but cost notably more, while Chinese labs (DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, etc.) cluster in the low-cost, mid-intelligence region.
