Stack Overflow hit a new record: fewer than 1,000 questions posted on its public site last month, underscoring AI tools' impact on developer Q&A.
CEO Prashanth Chandrasekar responded with clarifications: the public Q&A site is only part of the company; simple, repetitive questions have indeed moved to AI tools while complex ones remain; and the company aggressively pivoted to enterprise years ago, recently launching Stack Internal — a governed AI context layer producing curated, SME-validated knowledge inside companies so AI agents work off accurate information.
