The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-29
Google has released Gemini 4 Carbon, its latest frontier model, claiming "significant gains" in coding, agentic tasks, and cybersecurity.
- Carbon tops the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (v5.0), with Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra trailing behind.
- It succeeds Argon, which Google shipped earlier this month.
- Access is currently limited to a select group of cybersecurity defense companies, with plans to expand to other partners via the Fairwind Program.
Note: details are based on Google's official claims; third-party verification is pending.
