Per Business Insider, AI coding startup Cognition (maker of Devin) has received investor offers valuing it at $70B-$80B and is seriously considering a round before year-end, though talks are early. This comes just weeks after it raised $2B+ at a $48B valuation in September. At the new range, investors would pay 78x-89x revenue, up from 53x. Founded in 2023 by Scott Wu, Steven Hao and Walden Yan, its investors include a16z, Accel, Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Elad Gil and Pear VC. For context, SpaceX acquired rival Cursor for $60B months ago; Cognition was also drawn into a public feud with Factory last month.
