San Francisco-based AI styling startup Alta has raised a $20M Series A led by Forerunner, with Menlo Ventures, Aglaé Ventures and angels participating, following an $11M seed round led by Menlo.
Users add clothes they own via photos, product links, video scans or receipts, and a dozen-plus specialized AI models suggest outfits rendered on avatars built from two selfies. The platform has generated 20 million avatars and 700 million outfits.
Alta also licenses its styling and rendering tech to brands: it powers Rent the Runway's app AI, and Gap and Zimmermann have run try-on campaigns on it.
