Anthropic researcher flags classroom AI detector flipping 100% AI to 100% human with minor tweaks
BlancheMinerva · x · 2026-10-29
Blanche Minerva (Anthropic) responded to evidence that AI detectors fail in classrooms, calling it the first serious evidence of its kind she's seen and asking whether it still reproduces with the new model version.
In the quoted post, @ipeirotis showed a simple example of why such detectors shouldn't be deployed in classrooms: minor text tweaks flip the verdict from 100% AI to 100% human, demonstrating the detectors are simply not robust.
