Kalshi's Tarek Mansour published an op-ed arguing prediction markets are structurally different from sportsbooks: buyers and sellers compete to discover efficient prices, and 75% of visitors never trade. He contends they should be overseen by market regulators, not gaming commissions — "the New York State Gaming Commission doesn't regulate the Nasdaq." Ronangmi sharply criticized the piece as brazenly gaslighting the public followed by a plea for regulatory capture.
