AWS Introduces Infinity, a Runtime for Extreme Agent Concurrency with Synthetic Tool Calls
ShadajL · x · 2026-10-28
AWS's open source blog introduces Infinity, an early-stage research runtime for extreme agent concurrency.
The core innovation is a fundamentally new form of tool calls: tools can stream asynchronous events over time, which are revealed to the agent as "synthetic tool calls" — injected in a way that preserves post-training capabilities.
Author Shadaj Lada notes this is early research with opportunities to combine with work on RLMs, context optimization, and more.
