Ex-Google/Runway team raises $7M pre-seed led by Lightspeed for generative commerce app Dalet

Dalet Labs announced a $7M pre-seed round led by Lightspeed to build "Generative Commerce" — a consumer app whose team includes researchers and engineers from Google, Runway and MIT. The thesis: existing commerce assumes users already know what they want, but real shopping is discovery-driven. Dalet generates lifelike scene feeds featuring real products across brands, with every interaction shaping the next generation of content, and purchases happen via unified in-app checkout. Early access is now rolling out, with angels including Adam D'Angelo and Scott Belsky participating.
