Autonomous.ai has launched Lamp, a fully-assembled open source companion robot priced at $999, with free shipping starting Nov 30 (bulk orders from $929).
The team says they built Lamp piece by piece over 9 months, teaching it something new daily — listening, talking, feeling, seeing, and thinking. Three usage modes:
- Enjoy: daily chat, Q&A, object recognition via camera, with customizable name, voice and personality;
- Build: choose your own AI model, add physical/digital skills, connect apps and tools;
- Make money: build robot experiences for shops, schools, creators and events on top of the provided hardware and OS.
Camera-based habits like posture feedback and hydration reminders are supported, along with voice-readout of agent workflow results.
