LALA Benchmark: 236 academic-written open-ended questions probing LLM language understanding
JasonBotterill · x · 2026-10-28
The LALA Benchmark is a new evaluation of 236 open-ended questions on linguistics, logic and literature, written by academics, testing how well models analyze sentences and texts. It aims to measure LLMs' grasp of natural language, human intention, and syntax-semantics-pragmatics relationships, with frontier labs as the target audience for identifying linguistic limitations in models and training paradigms.
