DigitalColmer · x · 2026-10-28
AWS announced general availability of OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra on Amazon Bedrock, positioning it as the balanced tier of the GPT-6 family:
- Speed: completes agent tasks over 3x faster than GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol
- Price: input/output tokens at least 50% cheaper than GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-5.6 Terra
- Capability: scores 15 points higher than GPT-5.6 Terra on Agents' Last Exam, on par with GPT-6 Astra; gains in visual reasoning, computer use, and factuality
- Specs: up to 1M input tokens, accepts text and images
- Access: callable via Bedrock APIs; ChatGPT Work and Codex can be configured to use it, with standard AWS access controls and audit logging
Suggested uses include drafting proposals, interpreting technical drawings, codebase investigation, and building agents across business systems.
