OpenBMB open-sources MiniCPM-OCR: 1B model parses 128 pages/min with a separate checker
alifcoder · x · 2026-10-28
OpenBMB released the open-source MiniCPM-OCR suite: MiniCPM-OCR 1.0, a 1B model hitting SOTA speed and accuracy (128 pages/min, 93.68 on Real5-OmniDocBench, 54.7 on OCRBench v2), plus MiniCPM-OCR Jev, a model-agnostic 2B decision model that verifies extracted text, formulas and tables — approaching Qwen3.5-397B-A17B on JevOCRBench. The pitch: fast parsing plus an independent guardrail for error-sensitive workflows.
