At AGNTCon + MCPCon North America, the Agentic AI Foundation awarded Marcelo Trylesinski its Outstanding Technical Contribution Award for maintaining the MCP Python SDK.
- He is one of two maintainers; his biggest work this year was SDK v2, shipped alongside the 2026-07-28 MCP spec revision with a new MCPServer API and multi-round-trip requests, now the stable release line
- v2 implements the new spec: standard error codes, authorization hardening, routable transport headers, a deprecation policy, and OpenTelemetry tracing on by default
- He sponsored SEP-1288 (WebSocket transport); the HTTP transport runs on Starlette/Uvicorn, which he also maintains
- He thanked Pydantic for paying him to work on open source, and noted v2 ships Logfire integration
