SIMIT lets vision-language models self-improve at test time, +7.2% across 17 benchmarks

Researchers present SIMIT, a method that lets omnimodal/vision-language models self-improve at test time without a single label. The model first decides an answer, then imagines a "practice problem" by generating an image that makes that answer true — effectively creating its own training data. This yields a +7.20% average improvement across 17 benchmarks, suggesting omnimodal models can bootstrap their own improvement by generating data themselves.
