Amodeis' Neurotech Remarks Spark Debate Over Human-AI Coevolution at Anthropic

When asked about brain-computer interfaces, Dario Amodei said "some people are gonna want to link their brains to computers, and good luck to them," while Daniella Amodei added "I don't think anyone at Anthropic is in that boat." @viemccoy quoted the remarks and argued this bodes poorly against Anthropic's stated goal of "Utopia ruled over by God in a box": neurotech is one of the few real paths to continued human oversight, and the scoffing suggests Anthropic won't pivot toward human-machine coevolution. He invited Anthropic employees who feel misrepresented to attend the Coevolution Conference (Dec 4–6, 2026), which explores intentional coevolution over "blind successionism."
