Why AI can't be a great idea guy: its own outputs raise the bar it must clear
theteknosaur · x · 2026-10-28
Responding to the claim that "AI can do a lot but it's still a terrible idea guy," theteknosaur offers a structural explanation that applies to writing too: ideas and writing are what people use AI for most, so whatever it generates spreads instantly and becomes the new normal — and "new" just means different from the normal. Each time the model improves, its own output raises the bar it has to clear. It's not a bad idea guy; it's the average idea guy by design.
