Dario dismisses brain-computer links; viral chart argues skipping BCI strands humanity
abhiadesai · x · 2026-10-28
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said in an interview that "some people are gonna want to link their brains to computers, and good luck to them," with co-founder Daniela adding that nobody at Anthropic is in that boat. Quoting this, darconville argues that if you believe in ASI, it's a bleak take on human dignity: an accompanying phase-lock chart shows flat human capability over 300,000 years against exponential machine capability, with a "Phase Lock Window" around 2026 after which humans without BCI fall permanently behind. The author doesn't fully buy the "humans as zoo animals" timeline but agrees neurotech advancement is necessary.
