Part 6 of the Neolab economics thread lists three better uses of the compute:
- Skip the general-model competition entirely;
- Pick new model directions big labs won't enter (e.g. World Labs-style bets), since such products risk cannibalizing existing business or distracting from the main line;
- Amass large-scale proprietary data to beat general frontier models in robotics, biology, or chemistry — e.g. Periodic Labs.
