Anthropic has acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person company founded by Cody Tranbarger, who used Claude to manage contracts, logistics, and experiments across 11 external labs—taking a potential muscular dystrophy treatment from idea to promising mouse results in under 18 months, with human trials possible by late 2028. It's Anthropic's fourth acquisition in half a year, following Coefficient Bio ($400M) and Stainless ($300M+).
