Anthropic's official blog announces it has acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person company founded by Cody Tranbarger, who used Claude to organize contracts, logistics and experiments across 11 external labs. In under 18 months, Mithril took a possible muscular dystrophy treatment from idea to promising mouse results. Tranbarger joins Anthropic to continue the work, with human trials possible as soon as late 2028. Anthropic also disclosed research partnerships with six medicine-developing organizations. Yuchen Jin calls it 'the real 1-person billion-dollar company.'
