EU governments approve GDPR change letting AI train on personal data without consent

EU governments have approved a GDPR change that would let companies train AI on Europeans' personal data without consent, making AI training a possible "legitimate interest" judged case by case. The European Parliament must still sign off. Privacy activist Max Schrems calls it a "digital expropriation" of Europeans. Poster Igor Carron notes the irony: Europeans will keep clicking cookie banners while their data is used for AI training.
