Gemini adds SynthID detection: ask one question to spot Google AI media
GeminiApp · x · 2026-10-28
The Gemini app now integrates Google SynthID detection: users can simply ask Gemini "Is this AI generated?" to check whether an image, video, or audio file was made with Google's AI tools.
SynthID is Google's content watermarking technology; bringing detection into the Gemini chat interface means ordinary users can verify suspicious media without dedicated tooling.
