ChatGPT Work sync bug makes messages vanish from view while the model still recalls them
LynxAirSound · reddit · 2026-10-28
A ChatGPT Plus user reports a frustrating cross-device sync issue with long Work-mode conversations: the mobile app sometimes shows an older version of the chat, and one sync event even reverted visible history on both devices, making recent messages disappear.
Oddly, the model can still accurately recall details from the "missing" messages, suggesting the content remains in context even though the UI no longer renders it. The user also hit an endless reconnecting loop on mobile. They're asking for similar reports, recovery methods, and workarounds.
