Developer localhost5173 (egoist) released MyGo, a GUI framework for building desktop apps in Go, created in just three weeks largely thanks to Claude Opus 5.5.
Key features:
- One tiny (7MB) cross-platform binary for macOS/Linux/Windows, pure Go with no cgo
- Two UI modes: native UI (declarative Go views rendered directly on the GPU via Metal/Direct3D/OpenGL, no HTML/JS/webview, 44MB idle) or web frontend using the OS's built-in webview
- Typed IPC: pages call bound Go services; the TypeScript client is generated from Go code
- Desktop APIs: windows, menus, tray, dialogs, notifications, global shortcuts, deep links, file associations
- Ships with app bundles, installers and auto-updates
