X algorithm update: new posts no longer cut first in For You feed
ThePeterMick · x · 2026-10-28
X changed its For You feed trimming logic: with 3,700 candidate posts per refresh, new posts used to sit last in line and got cut first; now all posts are trimmed equally, giving new posts a fair shot. Low-quality or misinformation-labeled posts now show a warning and can't be liked, replied to or shared. The first 2 hours still matter most, and only your best post per session gets pushed.
