Anthropic IPO filing: $16.3B H1 revenue, compute yield up to $2.08 per dollar
bigdata · x · 2026-10-28
Ben Lorica dissects Anthropic's S-1: the H1 2026 net loss of $80.7B was mostly noncash adjustments to convertible instruments, while the June quarter posted $974M operating income (8% margin) including training costs. Revenue went from $41M (2023) to $4.6B (2025) to $16.3B in H1 2026. Compute economics improved sharply: revenue per dollar of compute/infra spend rose from $0.40 in early 2025 to $2.08 in the June 2026 quarter. Revenue per employee jumped from $1.4M to $6.6M+ in a year; enterprise customers are moving from APIs to Claude Code and Cowork. Risks: revenue concentrated in Amazon/Google cloud marketplaces, and how much of the claimed $40T knowledge-worker value Anthropic can actually capture.
