aryaman2020 · x · 2026-10-28
New research shows Vision Transformers spontaneously learn to segment and bind image patches into objects, but the mechanism was unclear. Drawing on questions Gestalt psychologists asked 100 years ago about human perception, the authors study how ViTs group patches into coherent objects, offering a new lens on their internal representations.
