Team reverse-engineers Claude Code's memory: simple design, with caveats
letandrewcook · x · 2026-10-28
The supermemory team (founder Dhravya Shah) reverse-engineered Claude Code's memory system — the same way they broke down their own Instinct memory last month, by directly interrogating Claude. Their verdict: the implementation is very simple but comes with notable caveats. They published a blog post plus a short video explainer, making this a first-hand teardown useful for anyone building agent memory systems or trying to understand Claude Code's behavior.
